About us
Medivet Southgate is a well-established North London practice with a friendly, experienced team and a loyal client base that values the quality of care we provide. You will join a collaborative environment where patient wellbeing, professional respect and practical support are central to the way the team works.
The practice is equipped with a dedicated consultation room, fully equipped theatre and preparation area, digital radiography, dental X-ray, ultrasound and in-house laboratory equipment. You will also have access to additional facilities, expertise and clinical support through our nearby 24-hour North London hospital.

About this role
As Lead Veterinary Surgeon, you will have the opportunity to bring your ideas, experience and leadership style to the practice, helping shape its clinical direction and continued development.
Your role will combine hands-on clinical work with day-to-day leadership. You will deliver high-quality care through consultations and surgery, develop tailored treatment plans with clients and maintain strong clinical, regulatory and operational standards.
You will work closely with an experienced nursing team and dedicated clinical operations colleagues, while sharing your knowledge, supporting professional development and creating an environment where people can do their best work. You will have meaningful autonomy within the practice, backed by the resources and expertise of the wider Medivet community.
About you
You are an experienced veterinary surgeon who enjoys combining excellent clinical care with supportive, approachable leadership. You will bring:
- A collaborative leadership style that encourages trust and contribution
- Confidence in consultations, surgery and clinical decision-making
- A strong commitment to patient care and positive client relationships
- The ability to support, develop and inspire veterinary colleagues
- A genuine interest in helping shape the future of the practice
- MRCVS registration and the experience required to step into a lead role
Our location
Southgate offers an appealing balance of leafy North London living and easy access to the heart of the city. The practice is around a 15-minute walk from Southgate Underground Station, with Piccadilly Line services reaching Central London in approximately 35 minutes.

Our offer
Your package includes:
- Salary of £65,000 to £85,000, depending on experience

The salary range for this full-time position is £65,000 to £85,000, depending on your experience.
