About us
We’ve been part of the Sherborne and Yeovil communities for over a century, and that kind of longevity doesn’t happen by accident. It comes from a genuine commitment to high clinical standards, to investing in our people, and to earning trust one patient at a time. Today, we operate across two purpose-built sites, each equipped with digital and dental radiography, ultrasound, and laparoscopic capability, along with separate cat and dog wards with isolation facilities. We’re proud to hold Silver ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic status, a reflection of the thoughtful, species-specific care that runs through everything we do.
Our team is made up of six veterinary surgeons, six RVNs, two SVNs, and a dedicated client care team. We also work alongside a visiting orthopaedic specialist for complex surgical cases. Leadership here isn’t about hierarchy. It’s about creating the conditions for you to do your best clinical work, backed by a team that genuinely has your back. We’re part of the wider IVC Evidensia network, which means you also have access to an extensive professional development ecosystem, research funding, and specialist resources.
All the people at Kingston vets are lovely and they look after the animals so well. I wouldn’t want to take my Bessy anywhere else – Rosemary S – Google Review
About this role
This is a small animal role with real clinical depth. Your caseload spans cats, dogs, rabbits, and small furries, with a strong emphasis on continuity of care. You’ll manage a satisfying mix of consultations and surgery, from routine procedures through to orthopaedics, complex dentals, splenectomies, and a broad range of advanced medical and surgical work.
What makes this role stand apart is ownership. You’ll follow your cases from first consult through to outcome, building genuine clinical relationships and taking pride in the results.
- Diagnostic Problem-Solving: Using our advanced imaging suite to reach confident diagnoses and build targeted treatment plans.
- Surgical Breadth: Moving between routine soft-tissue work, orthopaedics, and more complex surgical interventions with the backup of a visiting specialist.
- Feline-Focused Care: Practising within a Silver ISFM-accredited environment where cat-specific protocols are built into your daily workflow.
- Collaborative Case Management: Working through challenging cases alongside experienced colleagues who value open clinical discussion.
About you
You’re an experienced veterinary surgeon who wants to practise at a high standard with genuine freedom to direct your own clinical decisions. You enjoy the full spectrum of small animal medicine and surgery, and you find real satisfaction in seeing your cases through from start to finish.
You thrive in a team environment where ideas are shared openly and clinical discussion is part of the daily rhythm. You bring a proactive approach to your own development, whether that’s pursuing a certificate, refining a surgical skill, or mentoring less experienced colleagues.
You hold a degree in veterinary medicine recognised by the RCVS and are registered (or eligible for registration) to practise in the UK.
