About us
Equine Veterinary Care is a growing equine team working primarily at Delaware Park Racetrack, with opportunities to support horses and clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic racing circuit.
Our work sits at the centre of Thoroughbred racing, where clinical judgement, trusted relationships, and timely decision-making matter every day. You will be part of a collaborative team with strong morale, respected racetrack and sports medicine veterinarians, quality trainers and owners, and experienced support around you.
As part of National Veterinary Associates, our team also benefits from the backing of a wider veterinary organisation with a strong focus on animal care, collaboration, and long-term professional support.
They take the best care of your horse and if you have an emergency they are very responsive and come in a timely manner. I can not recommend them enough! They have an amazing staff and really care about you and your horse! No matter what vet that has come out for my accident prone horse, they are all so nice and overall great vets! – Caroline B – Google review
About this role
This is a racetrack role with genuine scope to grow, whether you are an experienced racetrack veterinarian or an internship-trained equine veterinarian looking for strong mentorship and a clear pathway into Thoroughbred racing medicine.
You will work across the clinical rhythm of the racing environment, with opportunities to develop in sports medicine, lameness, imaging, and ambulatory practice. The role is supported by fully equipped new veterinary trucks, brand-new DR imaging, ultrasound, scopes, and diagnostic equipment, giving you the tools to practise high-quality equine medicine in the field.
Just as importantly, the role has been shaped with sustainability in mind. A seasonal flexible schedule, rotating weekends, and a shared emergency coverage system with veterinary triage help reduce unnecessary overnight calls and support a more balanced long-term career.

You are likely to bring:
- A collaborative clinical style and a steady, professional approach
- Confidence building trusted relationships with trainers, owners, and colleagues
- Interest in sports medicine, lameness, imaging, and ambulatory equine work
