About us
New Malden Vets for Pets is a locally owned, purpose-built practice in Southwest London, refurbished in December 2024 to create a modern and well-equipped clinical setting. Our facilities include a dedicated dental suite with dental X-ray, a separate diagnostic suite with X-ray and ultrasound, a rigid endoscope, two operating theatres, and dedicated feline, canine, exotic and isolation wards. We are an ISFM Silver Cat Friendly Clinic and are working towards Dog Friendly and PSS certification.
You will join a friendly, established team led by Joint Venture Partner and Veterinary Surgeon Michelle Akande. Across our veterinary, nursing, care and reception teams, colleagues bring interests and certificates in exotic animal medicine, feline medicine, ultrasonography, internal medicine, emergency care and hospital nursing. It is a collaborative environment where client care matters, individual interests are encouraged and learning is shared.

About this role
This permanent opportunity can be shaped around full-time or part-time hours. You will handle routine consultations and surgery, work collaboratively across a broad general-practice caseload and take occasional sole charge with the confidence that comes from an experienced team around you. The role includes a 1:5 weekend commitment, with Sunday worked sole charge, and there are no out-of-hours duties.
The practice is open to discussing the structure that will help the right person thrive. Alongside companion-animal work, the team’s established exotic expertise and varied clinical interests create useful opportunities to share knowledge, deepen existing strengths and develop new ones.
About you
You are an energetic, friendly clinician who enjoys contributing to a close-knit team and building trusted relationships with clients. You communicate clearly, approach patients with care and bring a practical, collaborative mindset to busy general practice.
